👋🏽 Hello everyone!
I’ve got a brand-new arrangement of a classic hymn, and I’m giving away the TAB as a challenge for those of you wanting to push your playing to the next level technically, rhythmically, and harmonically.
If you're up for a challenge, download the TAB and try it out for yourself. It took me over 2 months to play it cleanly—so don’t worry if it takes you a while too.
🎬 Behind the scenes
I wanted to give you a little insight into this arrangement and what made it so challenging:
1. A new technique at 0:11
There’s a chord where I play two strings with just the tip of one finger. It sounds simple, but it took me 1.5 months to play it cleanly. I honestly thought my fingers were too small for it but turns out, it was just a matter of time and repetition.

2. Right-hand pinky in action
I started using my right hand pinky to play both melody and chord tones. It felt super awkward at first, especially for melodies, but I wanted to push myself. This was probably the hardest part of the entire process.
3. Harmonic challenge
I challenged myself to explore some new chords I’ve never used before. I try to add 1 or 2 new voicings in every arrangement to keep myself growing.
This arrangement reminded me again that learning guitar is a lifelong journey. After all these years, I’m still learning... and that’s a good thing. Don’t get discouraged. Just thank God for the process, and enjoy the learning process.
🎵 Interactive TAB
For easier learning, try out the interactive TAB. You can:
- hear AND see exactly what you need to do. no more guessing what fingers to use or how to play the rhythm.
- slow down or speed up
- loop sections
- turn on a virtual fretboard for better visuaization
If you're a member of my academy, you can access the interactive TABand the downloadable PDF under the Advance Hymn Library.
